First, the required fibres are produced and woven into the finished fabric. Only in a second step is the finished fabric dyed using large quantities of fresh water, chemicals and energy, whereby the colour pigments are merely fixed to the fibre surface. The fabric then has to be dried again and the contaminated water has to be laboriously recycled or cleaned. We use a granulate made from recycled plastic waste as the basis for our waterSAVE® coverings. The fibre is already completely dyed through during the actual production process (i.e. when the yarn is spun). Almost no water is required, additional, harmful chemicals can be largely dispensed with, and the drying time otherwise required in machines with high energy consumption is also eliminated.
