As the successor to model series 201, with which Daimler-Benz was able to establish itself in the compact medium-size car market segment with resounding success, the C-Class was introduced in May 1993, which from then on was also offered in the three variants of "Esprit", "Elegance" and "Sport" in addition to the classic version. Following a revision of the model range in 1995, a design update of the successful model followed in 1997, four years after the start of series production. In just over seven years of production, a total of 1,626,383 saloons were built, 869,703 of which were produced in Sindelfingen and 756,680 of which rolled off the production line in Bremen. As a miniature model in die-cast zinc, the C-Class is now also finding its way into hobby collections. The model, which was based on the original CAD data, is painted in an authentic colour shade and features a faithful reproduction of all interior details. The doors, bonnet and tailgate can be opened, allowing closer inspection of the car's interior. The precision model is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging, which includes a screwdriver for easy removal of the model and a glove to protect it from fingerprints.
